2025 - Our Year of Access & Inclusion

JOIN US IN CHANGING THE LIFE OF A CHILD WITH HEARING LOSS
Join us in creating access and equity.

Your support makes it possible for FHSR to help children and young people with hearing loss, regardless of their background or ability to pay for services. We need your help to continue to expand and adapt our programs and services, so that every young person can achieve their fullest potential.

One amazing example of our child-centered approach is the story of Zion, our 2024 Champion Child. Zion is profoundly deaf in both ears, and was born with a limb difference. But thanks to your support he’s also a budding musician on track for success. Learn more about Zion, and his mother Danielle, here.

In 2025, FHSR will be making a concerted effort to reach out to more diverse communities across Illinois, expanding to cover a wider area with more accessible programming. With music, education, clinical outreach and community events, we have never been closer to our vision of a world where children with hearing loss have the opportunity to develop to their full potential and to enjoy the same social, educational, and economic opportunities as their peers.

Join us to make a sound investment in our children.

MEET ZION, OUR 2024 CHAMPION CHILD

Zion is a twelve-year-old dynamo: a son, a student, an Instagram dance sensation and, thanks to your support, a rising star at the Merit School of Music. In addition to his hearing loss, Zion has a limb difference – but that’s not stopping him from living into his full potential, or rocking the Glockenspiel! Read the story of Zion, and his mom, Danielle, to learn more about how FHSR has worked to ensure Zion has the opportunity to thrive.

“We all need a little bit of help. I thank FHSR for the opportunity to have these music lessons.” – Danielle, Zion’s mom
