2023 ANNUAL APPEAL

Are you ready to make an impact in the lives of deaf and hard-of-hearing children in need?
The Foundation for Hearing and Speech Resources has been making sound investments in children for the past 60 years, thanks to FHSR’s generous donors. But, there is still work to be done, and we need your help to continue to support and grow our programs in 2023.
We’re pleased to present the inspiring story of Camden; FHSR’s 2023 Champion Child, and encourage you to learn more about his journey below. Because of the support from people like you, Camden has been the recipient of a variety of life-changing programs offered by the Foundation.
Working to fulfill our mission in 2023, FHSR added two new Music to My Ears (MTME) school sites, increased the number of children in the tuition-free early childhood and instrument program by 15%, built out the preschool stage to the online resource Ages & Stages, collaborated to reach more than 450 students through a literacy program, and launched a music therapy program unique to deaf and hard of hearing children.
HELP US MEET OUR FUNDING GOAL FOR 2024!
With your help, we can continue to impact our community in a lasting way. Your donations will allow FHSR to expand our FREE programming to meet the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing children

If pretending to be a pirate or a builder is right up your alley, you would love to go on an adventure with Camden! Camden is an energetic, outgoing, and curious 3 ½ year old who loves reading, pretending and going to school. He also happens to have hearing loss.
Camden’s hearing loss was diagnosed when he was 15 months old, thanks to an early intervention therapist’s recommendation his hearing be checked when he didn’t hit developmental milestones for speech and language.
His mom, Megan, said “No one was anticipating there being an issue, thank goodness we had him checked when we did.”
