Rock the Town For Hearing!
Thank you to everyone who joined us last year at FitzGerald’s SideBar as we ROCKED THE TOWN FOR HEARING! All money raised supports programming that positively impacts the lives of deaf and hard of hearing children and young adults.
This concert-style fundraising event featured The Commoners, a local Chicago Cover Band at FitzGerald’s Sidebar.
Our guests enjoyed wine & beer, great food from Babygold Barbecue, fantastic music, a photo booth and more.Â
We had an ASL interpreter for the entire show.
THANK YOU TO OUR GENEROUS SPONSORS!

Learn More About FHSR's Programming
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
FHSR knows how difficult it can be for deaf and hard of hearing children to not see peers who look just like them, and how isolating it can be for families. The Foundation offers annual free family events to combat this issue and provides policy opportunities for parents – their child’s best advocates.

EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Literacy is the cornerstone of a deaf or hard of hearing child’s school success. FHSR works to create and fund unique education programs that help parents at each age & stage, offering training on early literacy and a book scholarship that distributes age-appropriate resources to parents.
LOANER HEARING AID BANKS
Loaner hearing aids ensure that a child’s hearing and communication are not interrupted because they don’t have a device or their family cannot afford one. FHSR has funded Loaner Hearing Aid Banks at Advocate Oak Lawn, Lurie Children’s Hospital, University of Illinois Chicago, and Comers Children’s Hospital.
MUSIC
PROGRAMS
Music to My Ears (MTME) provides tuition-free music enrichment classes for children from birth to four years old, instrument lessons from 4 to 16 years of age, and school based classes for pre-K to 1st grade. We recently partnered with Chicago Public Schools to expand access school-based programming.
FHSR EDUCATION COORDINATOR
The FHSR Education Coordinator serves as a resource for parents and their children living with hearing loss as well as the professionals who work with them, to assist in the transition to school, class placement, technology, paperwork, services, and accommodations.
BE A PART OF IT ALL.
FHSR committed to making this event accessible to people with hearing loss.
